Faux Chalkboard Art

I've been working hard on new and creative ideas for my booth at Prattville Pickers. I recently made a few faux chalkboards with Bible verses written in chalkboard lettering.

I say they are "faux," because they aren't really chalkboards. I just painted and distressed picture frames, cut thin sheets of wood to fit into the picture frame, and painted the wood sheets black. I then glued the wood sheets into the picture frames. I drew the verses in pencil, then went over the pencil with a white paint marker.

I was so excited when all of the chalkboards I made sold pretty quickly. I even had a few requests for custom items. It is awesome to know that people appreciate my art, but it's even greater to know that people love the message in the art.

I hope you've enjoyed a peek at one of my new projects! Hopefully there will be more to come!

    1. Thanks so much! I used a DecoColor white paint marker, but I think any paint marker would do.

  5. Aww. Love it. Can I have one?!!! I have one verse that is repeated over and over in my house. I would just enjoy having your art with my verse on it.

    1. I'm only selling them in my flea market booth right now. I would love sell them on Etsy, but I just don't have the time right now. I hope to one day though!

    1. Thanks! Chalkboards are so popular right now, so I thought this would be a great way use that in a more permanent way.
